Ghost-Tide Walk
This Sunday, 3 March 2019, join Inspiral London for the Woolwhich Backwards – Ghost Tide Walk. The trail includes artist Charlie Fox’s commission for The Ghost Tide exhibition, curated by Monika Bobinska and Sarah Sparkes (GHost). Fox’s Ghost Tide commission, From Flotsam to Jestson, includes a trail of handpainted ghost signs poetically placed within the Woolwich area. The signs create a new way to expereince and explore this historic and changing part of London.
Sunday’s walk will be led by Charlie Fox AKA Sailor Forbes and will include half of segment 21 of the Inspiral London trail. The walk includes a guided tour from Flotsam to Jetson – an antisign trail exploring the historic and often hidden heritage of Woolwich Docks. The walk will evoke the spirit of the place, through Sailor Forbes’ signs and speech – a mixture of 18thC Naval slang and 21stC cutup.
