Free Screening of Prince of Darkness
St Giles Church Crypt, Camberwell Church Street, SE5 8RB
Doors 8:30pm film 9:00pm
GHost and Camberwell Free Film Festival return to the Crypt of St Giles Church for a night of cult horror and a screening of one of John Carpenter’s weirdest films, ‘Prince of Darkness’. Featuring Donald Pleasence and Alice Cooper the film contains one of the most unsettling depictions of evil ever!
A catholic priest – Donald Pleasence – invites a physics research team to investogate a mysterious cylinder in an old church… and the cylinder begins to open… A free screening of horror legend John Carpenter’s tour de force of supernatural terror. Presented by GHost, this elegantly photographed, legitimately frightening 1980s gem still holds up, screened here in a brand new restored HD version.
The unique setting in the Crypt will perfectly add to the experience of watching this gripping claustrophobic tale unfold. Join us… if you dare…
Doors open at 8:30 pm, but come in good time to secure a seat. The Jazzlive at The Crypt bar will be open from 8:30 and remain open throughout the screening and beyond.
